Spécial chantier visits
Put on your hard hat and slip behind the scenes of the most significant restoration site currently under development in Europe. Follow our guides into the very heart of the restored fortress. As soon as you enter the restoration site gates, go to the Royal Lodge’s first floor for an insight into the outstanding roof restoration project. From the top of the esplanade of Fort Saint-Georges, you will realise the importance of excavation work conducted prior to the erection of the contemporaneous building.

Visit of a restoration site of special interest
A unique opportunity to discover the skill and the techniques employed by the artistic craftsmen working on this extraordinary project. Via the moats and then the subterranean passage, you will find yourself immersed in the very heart of the restoration site. Throughout the visit, information panels present the various restoration projects which have taken place during the fortress’s history. Follow your guide and discover the project’s great significance – the largest restoration site in Europe – and using construction techniques developed in the Middle Ages. Stop for a second before the scaffolding to admire the skilled craftsmanship of stonecutters, sculptors and carpenters.
